Just Released! Summary of Investigations into Allegations of Theft
Our latest investigations revealed a substantiated case of time theft by a BART employee, resulting in an estimated loss of at least $340 in improper wages and benefits. While we did not substantiate three other allegations of theft, these investigations underscore the importance of addressing misconduct and ensuring accountability.
Theft is illegal and harms the District’s ability to fund critical services like repairs and staffing. It also erodes public trust in BART’s stewardship of taxpayer dollars, making it essential to address such allegations through independent investigations.
